VICTOR PRIDE, DYLAN MADDEN AND MIKE CERNOVICH
IF I COULD SUM UP THIS ARTICLE WITH THREE PHRASES OR THREE SENTENCES I WOULD SAY:
STOP BEING A WUS, COMMIT CORPORATE SEPUKKU, AND BUILD AN ONLINE BUSINESS WHICH IS YOU… THE BRAND.
ANOTHER THREE THINGS I WOULD SAY GET YOUR ASS IN THE GYM, START READING BOOKS INSTEAD OF WASTING YOUR TIME ON SHIT LIKE VIDEOGAMES PORN PARTYING AND START THINKING OF WAYS YOU CAN OFFER VALUE FROM WHAT YOU LOVE TO DO.
10 things I learned from Victor pride and New World Ronin.
From Victor Pride I learned that you can blog yourself to freedom, but that your body comes first. Build your body while you build your brand.
Your brain is just as important and you should always be working on your mind. If you’re not progressing with your mind you’re staying stagnant, just like a ghost…that no one sees.
Brain and brand are just as important as body. The three of them work together and let you become your best self.
My Personal Story
From Day 1 of listening to Victor and reading his posts there was a fire stoked in me. Before Victor I was half dead, trying to make it on my own.
I needed some motivation, some masculinity. Someone talking straight up and not sugar coating things like they do in nice guy land. Nice guys are dead guys. Just like I was a dead guy.
I started reading and dreaming. Thats all I did. I read and I dreamt. I dreamt of a better way of living. A way of getting my voice heard. A way to express myself.
After reading many, many articles I came across his book on Discipline. I had zero discipline. I did not know what the word really meant.
Once I started implementing his 30 days of discipline book and workbook I became an ass kicker. I remember texting a friend the next morning, “Im gonna kick some ass,” after she asked me what I was gonna do that day.
Ive straightened out my posture. I workout consistently and people notice results. I even get those envious stares due to how I live my life now.
They sit back on their chairs of death aka Lazyboys, while I pump out reps at the gym. I lift weights and eat steaks, as Victor Pride puts it. Lifting weights and eating steaks. Thats how I live my life today.
I went to the beach the other day for the first time in years. I even took my shirt off. I feel the results. You can too.
Check me out here. I used to be much bigger. I can now do 100 pushups easy.
Blogging for 1 year before thinking about money is a good idea. It is something Victor Pride speaks of often.
Blog because you have something to say not for the money. This is something that holds a lot of people back in this blogging game.
I’ve also learned how to write and improve my writing style from Victor Pride. Not only are his blog posts inspiring but they are art at its finest.
Some of his articles will take you along with him like this one. Through his words he puts you in his shoes.
How to gain discipline with 30 days of discipline. I bought his book 30 Days of Discipline not sure what to expect. What I found was cut and dry principles on how to be disciplined.
I recommend that you give 30 Days of Discipline a try no matter how old you are. Following 30 Days of Discipline even taught me a few things.
Listed below are several other things that I learned from Victor Pride:
- The difference between full color work and black and white work.
- The importance of having a motto.
- Confidence comes easier to me now.
- Don’t blog if you don’t have anything to say.
- I learned to have a schedule and to write things down in my journal every night.
- I learned to be the best and forget the rest.
- I learned about corporate sepukku and that ITS POSSIBLE. If you do the work.
I found Victor a long time ago and I’ve read most of his articles, if not all of them. When I first found him I was opened to a new world where I saw that there were blog posts about masculinity. It stoked a fire in me and made me want to be better, stronger, more confident and ripped.

From Dylan Madden I learned how to hustle again. Me being in my late 30’s, I sort of had forgotten what it was to be a young hustler. I was never even a hustler when I was young. I never found my passion. I now have a passion and I am now a young hustler. I study and then I make moves.
Watching Dylan make moves inspires me every day. He moves, he hustles. I remember watching as he quit his 9-5 job and then go down his own path.
When I saw that he was working with Victor Pride I smiled. I knew this was something that he had planned on doing. It showed me the power of belief.
Dylan is a guy in his 20’s that is doing what he wants. He inspires me and he should inspire you as well.
I see Dylan Madden networking all the time helping people out like you and me. This is something that not many people do but I respect.
Most people are scared to reach out and help another blogger. Dylan isn’t and so for that I’ve learned the importance of networking.
No band ever wrote an album by themselves they did it together. Together as bloggers we can help each other out.
Keep this in mind if you get started online. Don’t be so selfish that you don’t help out other fellow bloggers.
DETAILS ARE KEY.
Dylan showed me that details are key. If there’s something of the littlest detail wrong, it fucks up your design and initial impression.
I also learned to be authentic and myself from being in contact with Dylan Madden. I watched him grow as a blogger from when he was way back in Way of The Olympian days and was blogging several years ago. I thought, damn that is fucking cool.
I kept up with him and finally contacted him when I first started my blog. I had been writing blog posts for my guitar teacher website but not with the right mindset of what a blog should be.
This time around I had someone who could answer any questions I had.
I was already a blogger somewhat. I just didn’t know what I was doing. So I kept reading and I kept writing. Not knowing that this opportunity would come up.
One day I woke up and sent him a message. Today my blog is what it is because of Dylan Madden’s help. His expertise with WordPress, plugins, and writing will get you going in the right direction.
He is a super cool down to earth guy and you should read every single blog post on his blog —> Calm and Collected
In order to start your blog you will need a few things. Here are some of those things listed below:
What initially caught my attention from Mike Cernovich was the mindset of a gorilla thing he’s got going on. His book Gorilla Mindset is what I’m talking about. If you haven’t picked it up yet I suggest you do.
It’s a great read and it has an audio-book version.
Mike says that in the gym he does whatever he wants. Whatever he feels. I really liked this because I do the same. I relate to it.
I don’t have a cookie cutter plan. My plan is to get to the gym and work as hard as I can. And so is his. Look at his physique. You can’t deny it.
I learned as well that podcasting could be cool as fuck if you just talk about what you love. I first heard about Mike through a podcast he did with Victor Pride on being big.
I thought they were both being cocky at first. In actuality they were spitting the truth and I just didn’t like it. I had lower self esteem back then and its grown a ton since following these guys.
I learned the following from Mike Cernovich:
- That a good book design is a big help.
- A badass logo is also key. And also looks great.
- My own personal voice and to be my authentic self.
- That blogging isn’t everyday. Its what you want it to be and that it can be everyday if you have something to say.
What I’ve learned from these guys has been invaluable.
If you’re anything like me, wanting to ditch the 9-5, live life on your terms and look good doing it, then follow these guys. Read their articles and books. Comment and get active in the blogging community.
I’ll leave you with this last bit of priceless information. Without action there is nothing. Dreaming and scheming is nothing without taking action on it and actually doing something about your life.
Here’s to always moving forward.
